Crusell Week has, since 1982, been celebrated around the turn of July and August in Uusikaupunki. The Crusell Week, which is known even internationally, is a music festival dedicated to woodwind instruments. High quality music education also takes place during the festival. The festival has a strong position among the summer events of Finland.

The domestic and foreign woodwind artists are in the leading role of the concert programmes of the Crusell Week.

Master Classes are arranged for all the woodwind instruments. In addition to chamber music and orchestral concerts, the festival serves jazz and social evenings. Also the traditional children's concert is organized. Night of the Lanterns and Party Night are part of the versatile programme of the festival, in which friends of new as well as ancient music can find something for themselves. The Crusell Week has also ordered several compositions. International competitions have been arranged for different woodwind instruments during the festival on every second year. Bassoon competition is in 2011.

During the Crusell Week, visitors can combine their love for music with that of the sea, since the archipelago around Uusikaupunki is famous for its beauty and the guest harbour has been awarded as the best in Finland. The public services of the town are of high quality and accommodation is easy to find.
